Plessis-Robinson: A Thousand-Year Story
Historical Short Film using AI images to illustrate and animate historical moments • Commissioned by the Town of Plessis-Robinson • 2024
This unique short film traces the rich history of Plessis-Robinson — a picturesque town near Paris — from the year 900 to the present day. Commissioned by the town hall, the project was initially created as part of the mayor’s New Year address and has since found new life in local schools as an educational tool.
Faced with minimal historical footage, we turned constraints into creativity by using a blend of animated archival material, original illustrations, and early generative AI video tools. The result is a vibrant, fluid and engaging visual journey — one that brings centuries of local heritage to life through an imaginative and technically forward-thinking approach.
Beautifully edited by Jack Hextall, the project stands as a testament to the power of creative storytelling when paired with emerging technology.
